64 Bit Do You Need To upgrade?

Step 1: Preparation

Before we begin you will need to uninstall the stand alone products that came bundled with your Defender-Pro product suite

XP Users please go to Start /Control Panel /Add or Remove Programs

VISTA Users go to Start /Settings /Control Panel / Programs and Features and remove the following items:

  • Defender-Pro Anti-Spy
  • Defender-Pro Anti-Scam
  • Defender-Pro PC Repair
  • Defender-Pro ID Theft Protection
  • Drive Defragger
  • File Burner
  • File Encryption
  • IP Spam Stopper
  • PC Backup
  • PC Repair
  • Uninstaller
  • You can now safely install your 2009 Defender-pro Product update. Please continue below:

    1. In the “System Tray” located at the bottom right hand corner of your machine.

    Move your mouse over the “DP” icon. 2. Right Click and select “Open Internet Security” This will show the as pictured below.

    3. Click on the stop button (to the right of Protection: running).

    4. Hit the “X” in the upper right hand corner.

    5. In the “System Tray” located at the bottom right hand corner of your machine. Move your mouse over the “DP” icon once again. Right Click the system tray icon and select “EXIT”. This will turn the software off before you uninstall it. (see picture below)

    Step 2: Uninstall of Defender Pro Internet Security 6.0

    1. Navigate to the Windows Start button at the bottom left hand corner of your screen.

    2. Navigate to Control Panel

    3. Next Select Programs and Features from the menu.

    4. Navigate to “Defender Pro Internet Security” in the list (see below) Click on “Uninstall/Change.”

    5. Click on “Remove.” This will start the removal process.

    6. Once the removal process is completed it is imperative that you re-boot your PC before installation of Defender Pro Renewal.

    IMPORTANT NOTE: BOOKMARK this page so you can continue with Step 3 after your computer re-boots.

    Step 3: Upgrade Installation

    Please download the upgrade here: HERE.

    NOTE: Simply downloading the Defender-pro upgrade will not automatically upgrade your subscription!! You will have to manually install the downloaded file. So before you download make sure to choose a location where you can easily find it. Your Desktop would be the preferred location.

    INTERNET EXPLORER

    MOZILLA FIREFOX

    1. Double-click “dpro_15_in_1_x64.exe” in order to install the package.

    2. Before launching the setup wizard, Defender-Pro will check for newer versions of the installation package. If a newer version is available, you will be prompted to download it. Click Yes to download the newer version or No to continue installing the version then available in the setup file. It is recommended that you install the latest version. Additionally, If not already installed, Defender-Pro will automatically install .NET Framework 1.1. Wait until the installation is completed.

    3. Defender-Pro alerts you if you have other antivirus products installed on your computer. If no other anti-virus products are detected click “Next”

    NOTE: It is highly recommended that you uninstall any other antivirus products detected before installing Defender-Pro. Running two or more antivirus products at the same time on a computer may cause harm to your PC. Some examples includes: Norton Antivirus, AVG, Trend Micro, McAfee and Kaspersky.

    4. Please read the License Agreement and click I agree.NOTE: If you do not agree to these terms click Cancel. The installation process will be abandoned and you will exit the setup.

    5. Follow the on screen prompts in order to install your upgrade.

    6. Click Finish. You will be asked to restart your system so that the setup wizard can complete the installation process. We recommend doing so as soon as possible.

    7. After the restart, your upgrade should start working immediately.

    In the event that you are presented with a window prompting you to activate the product please read below:

    Please enter the License ID and Password that came in the box with your original Defender-Pro Purchase. This is located on a Sticker inside the box (You have to remove manual) If you have any issues and or problems please contact Technical support at: support@defender-pro.com NULL
